The Aerostructure product line of Héroux-Devtek, with facilities in Quebec, Ontario and Texas, focus on meeting the full range of demand from business aviation, commercial and military aerospace markets for aircraft components and structural assemblies. Products include precision-machined airframe components and assemblies, from simple aluminum parts to large monolithic five-axis components. With capabilities from small bushings to parts up to 200 feet in length, Héroux-Devtek fulfills the most demanding airframe requirements.
Héroux-Devtek delivers the following aerostructure products and services to major OEMs such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Bombardier for diverse aircraft programs:
- Manufacture of aluminum-lithium and titanium aircraft structural components;
- Manufacture and engineering of components & sub-assemblies;
- Five-axis complex machining;
- Production processes configured to provide for customization, precision, flexibility, and on-time delivery.
Kitting Service
The selection, packaging and delivery of unassembled parts, with the goal of increasing the efficiency of production and/or installation, represents an important dimension of Héroux-Devtek’s service to its customers. Most often, this kitting involves the light assembly of components or parts into defined units ahead of production issue or customer shipment. Kitting ensures that a complete set of assembly-ready components are delivered on time and ready for manufacture.
This service allows the customer’s procurement group to order and track a reduced number of items. The customer’s assembly department then receives a finished product ready for use. The process reduces overhead costs by consolidating all purchasing, finance and warehousing functions within a single order. It does away with the need to maintain an inventory of pre-built completed products.
As part of Héroux-Devtek’s vertical integration strategy, and to exceed customer expectations for value-added services, increasingly greater emphasis is being put on kitting. With kitting capability at the Company’s facilities in Texas and Quebec, infrastructure is in place to manage customers’ kit requirements (hardware, sub-contracted parts, machined parts) for new production or aftermarket modification. Héroux-Devtek is exporting kits around the world to such countries as Belgium, Holland, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, and Israel, to support various military programs.
